“Pillars of the Earth” (10 p.m., Starz). In the nearly-two-hour series finale, Jack discovers a way to make Tom’s vision for the cathedral a reality, while Waleran and Alfred scheme against him.

“Whale Wars” (6 and 7 p.m., Animal Planet). In the two-part season finale, crazy Pete Bethune boards a Japanese ship and attempts a citizen’s arrest. Let’s just say it doesn’t go as planned. Then the Bob Barker and John Denver chase whaling ships through heavy ice. These guys really need to give their ships more fearsome names. Even Skippy would be better.

“Blood Dolphins” (8 p.m., Animal Planet). Series premiere. No, it’s not Syfy’s latest monster movie. Imagine “Whale Wars” meets “The Cove.” This new docu-series follows activists trying to put an end to the slaughter of dolphins in Japan.
“Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town” (7 and 7:30 p.m., IFC). More weirdness from the reunited comedy troupe.

“Beyond Survival with Les Stroud” (10 p.m., Discovery). Series premiere. The former “Survivorman” is back with a new series that has him traveling the world to live with indigenous peoples to learn their survival skills. I know I’ve said I’m over survival shows, but this one sounds a little different and kinda interesting. Tonight Les is in Sri Lanka to take part in a ritual with men once believed to be half-human, half-demon.

“The Gulf Is Back” (8 p.m., The CW). It’s for a good cause (Gulf Coast rebuilding), but this fundraising concert has a horrific lineup, including Taylor Hicks and Bo Bice. Geez, would be be so hard to have a listenable benefit concert featuring, say . . . the musicians of “Treme”? Oh, and former celebrities Dean Cain and Shannon Elizabeth make appearances.
